about

This work from composer pianist Brett Carson is based on the fifth book of extant writings from the Kôktimô civilization, and is a musical picture of the beginning of the universe, the originating vibration that dualizes the chaos. The creator deity Kurantikashtsa is an anthropomorphic representation of divine indifferent action, whose voice serves to set energy in motion. He is a conduit for the will of KZK, which exists beyond the realm of rational comprehension. The product of his creation separates itself into four balanced forces (Moving, Glowing, Buzzing, Burning), which uphold the universe like cosmic pillars. The piece illustrates both the substance of these four pillars, and the process by which they come into being.
