about
Telephone Grilled Sardines (at the End of September) – In the late 1930s, Salvador Dalí painted a series of works in which the telephone is prominent—a symbol of the ill-fated telephone conversations that led to WWII. In Dalí's 1939 painting, the repast has barely been touched: one of the sardines has been only partially eaten. The telephone receiver has been cut off from the body of the box.
